First Time Attendees

What every User Group Conference (UGC) newcomer needs to know!

Attending CBORD's User Group Conference for the first time is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. CBORD is committed to providing all newcomers with as many tools and as much information as possible to help them find their way.

Learn, Engage, and Discover at UGC 2017

Hello! We are excited to welcome you as a first-time attendee of the CBORD User Group Conference. We've put together some helpful information to assist you in having a great conference experience.

Guidebook: Your Key to UGC

The first thing you should do is download the free Guidebook app and find the UGC 2017 guide. Guidebook is your sole source for information about the conference, including the conference schedule, which is always up-to-date in the app, even if times or locations change.

You can use Guidebook to create your own personalized conference schedule, find information about accreditations, and more. At the end of each session, you will be asked to complete a session evaluation in Guidebook.

Arrival

If you're arriving on Saturday, this is your day to relax. No conference events are taking place this day and UGC Registration is not yet open. Enjoy the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa!

On Sunday, UGC Registration opens at 11:00 a.m. in the hotel lobby. You'll need to stop by to pick up your conference badge which you are required to wear for the duration of the conference and at all conference events. Registration is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, pay guest fees, etc. The registration desk is staffed until 7:00 p.m.

A Free Ride from Uber

UGC Attendees are eligible for one (1) free ride, up to $15 off. This promotion is available between Saturday, October 21, 2017 and Thursday, October 26, 2017 in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area.

To redeem your free ride: Open the Uber app on your mobile device and tap the menu in the upper-left corner; Tap "Payment," then tap "Add Promo/Gift Code." Enter the promo code UGC2017.

Conference Orientation

Be sure to attend the orientation session on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Sonoran Sky Ballrooms 1–4. This session is led by the CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC) and will provide you with helpful information about the conference.

Peer-to-Peer Groups

Immediately after the orientation session, UAC members will lead peer-to-peer sessions according to common interest groups. These breakout sessions will be in Sonoran Sky Ballroom 5–8 on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Questions During the Conference

On Sunday, you will see CBORD Team Members dressed in black CBORD shirts. UAC Members will be in light blue shirts. Any one of us will be happy to assist you.

The conference registration desk is another great resource for you. Stop by for a visit during conference hours. On Sunday, the registration desk will be located in the hotel lobby. Monday through Wednesday, registration will move to the Arizona Grand Ballroom Foyer (near the Technology Exhibit).

Don't forget Guidebook, which will have the very latest updates to schedules and other conference details. It's your best source for up-to-the-minute information.

Technology Exhibit

The Technology Exhibit is one of the highlights of UGC, where CBORD and our valued technology partners show off our latest innovations. You'll be able to talk one-on-one with company representatives, see live demonstrations, and learn how to implement solution-oriented products.

The Technology Exhibit is located in the Arizona Grand Ballroom, and is open on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Road Rally

It's like a conference scavenger hunt! You'll earn points for completing various tasks during the conference, such as using a card to open a lock or texting an answer to a trivia question. We'll have an electronic leaderboard showing top scores.

On Tuesday, the Road Rally winner is announced and a prize is awarded. For those who participate, this has always been a fun way to engage with your fellow attendees. We highly encourage you to get involved! Watch your email for more details as we get closer to the conference.

Meals

On Sunday following the Opening Session, there is a Welcome Reception from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served in the Palm/Paseo Court area.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday breakfast and lunch will be served in the Palm Court area.

The Excellence Awards Dinner is Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Grand Event Center.

The Desert Oasis Networking Dinner is Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the Oasis Event Patio.

Attire

Most attendees are comfortable in business casual attire for educational sessions and the Welcome Reception. People tend to be dressier at the Excellence Awards dinner event; we're calling it cocktail attire. Attire at the Networking Dinner event is casual.

Keep in mind that while we will be in Phoenix, the indoors will be air-conditioned and you may be a bit chilly at times, so don't forget to pack a sweater.
