Certification Sessions

Gain the experience and credentials you need to achieve your professional goals with CBORD's certification tracks designed to help you validate your skills. The two-hour courses conclude with examinations. Enrollment is limited, you will need to register in advance to secure your spot for our certification sessions.

NOTE: Certification sessions are limited to twelve participants; six spots are available for advanced registration through the online application process. Online registration for Certifications will open on Wednesday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. EST. Email communications will be sent prior to online registration opening. The remaining six available spots are reserved for on-site registration during the check-in period on Sunday, October, 22 at 11:00 a.m. MST. A waiting list for attendees will be created after the remaining six spots have been filled.

Access Control: Tips and Cool Features

CS Access has become one of the most powerful modules for CS Gold. This session is designed for new CS Gold users as well as those who have been using it for years because there may be some features that have slipped under your radar. Topics for this session include Master Key, emergency mode activation types, and much more. We will use both the Gold GUI and Admin Web for this certification session.

Best Practices: Nutrition Service Suite Meal Food Lists

Test your knowledge on the core feature of NSS—the Meal Food List. Whether you use room service, tray tickets, menus, or a combination, a clean and functioning Meal Food List is the key to a successful implementation. Attend this certification to develop a strategy for maintaining your Meal Food List that includes coding service preference number for menus and tray tickets and assigning the Room Service sort. You will learn how to use copy features and when to use overrides.

CS Gold Basic SQL

This session is for attendees interested in learning about the basics of Structured Query Language (SQL). Learn about using SQL to select and export information from a CS Gold system. Explore the CS Gold database structure, learn how to write SELECT queries, format results, and SPOOL results to a file. By the conclusion of this session attendees will be able to write queries and extract information for a CS Gold system.

CS Gold Patron Import

Join us for a hands-on session to learn how to write and run import files for a CS Gold system. In this session we will discuss over 85 standard import fields that can be used in an import file header. We will also discuss many different update modes and their uses. After writing your import files, and running your files automatically through the ImportShell utility, you will then be able to write both basic and advanced patron import files for a CS Gold system at the conclusion of this session.

This hands-on certification session will show you how to navigate the Facilities module in ResCenter and also go over the new options for creating new Facilities from scratch. Housing Access Map

Access control is easier to understand once all of the convenient shortcuts are available. Housing Access Map and Flag Access Maps are helpful shortcuts for better access management. This session will cover how to use both of these tools to make residence hall access, classroom access, and any other type of access easier and faster.

Maintaining Your Nutrition Service Suite/ Room Service Suite System

Congratulations you went live! Now what? Is every menu change as big as the original implementation? This certification session will review tips to maintaining your Room Service Choice system. You will learn how to create new items using save-as, build pending MFL for menu changes, and use test patients to validate changes before scheduling a new menu cycle. You will also learn when to use the classic Room Service vs. Room Service Choice for testing changes in a future date.

Oracle Hospitality Reporting and Analytics

Join this certification to review the updated web hosted reporting tool, previously known as mymicros. We'll take a quick look at Charts and Reports, and then focus on topics of an administrative nature. Tools you'll learn about include the new Check Query, Audit and Analysis, Report Mail, and Interactive Reports. Admin topics include mymicros Portal and Warehouse configuration as well as basic mymicros configuration in EMC. We'll sprinkle in a bit of troubleshooting as well (e.g.; How do I unsuspend a mymicros user account? What should I check if my sales figures seem off?).

Oracle Hospitality RES 3700: Advanced Menu Item Concepts

Assuming you're comfortable adding and maintaining Menu Items, let's take it a few steps further. We'll program some Condiments, a Combo Meal, and a Menu Item Set for Discounting. A Condiment is a Menu Item called by selling its parent Menu Item. Think dressing choices for a salad. A Combo Meal consists of Menu Items chosen from one or more Menu Item groups, combined together for a single price. A Menu Item Set is a group of Menu Items created for Discounting, whether the Discount be Manual or Automatic. TIP: Menu Item Sets are a direct segway to Discounting!

Setting Up Floor Plan Room Selection

Still having students select rooms from a list? This certification session walks you through setting floor plans up in ResCenter—allowing your students to point and click right on a floor map. After you have floor plans setup, you can then decide what information they see about both the facility and the roommates they are going to live with. This is a hands-on session where you will actually walk through the setup steps and select a room as a student.
